About Me

Billi Rufati

I’m a PACFA registered counsellor with a Bachelor of Counselling and a Graduate Diploma in Relationship Counselling.

My work is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a deep respect for each person’s autonomy and lived experience.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting adults, adolescents, couples, and families through moments of pain, growth, and transformation. My approach is gentle, relational, and holistic — always attuned to your unique needs and strengths.

I bring a strong professional focus to relational therapy — including Attachment Theory, Family Systems, and Psychodynamic approaches — which guide my understanding of how we connect with ourselves and others. My trauma informed lens is shaped by ongoing training in Polyvagal Theory, with particular emphasis on the importance of self regulation in relationships. I also integrate a compassionate focus on self awareness, self acceptance, and self actualisation, honouring each person’s capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change.

My Approach

My therapeutic approach is integrative and tailored to each client’s unique needs, drawing on modalities such as Systems Theory, Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centred practice. I work compassionately and collaboratively, supporting clients to explore their experiences within relational, emotional, and physiological contexts — always honouring their autonomy, strengths, and capacity for healing.

I draw on psychoeducation, emotional regulation strategies, and relational insight to foster deeper understanding, connection, and resilience within the family system.

Each session is a co-created space - one where your voice leads and your healing unfolds at your pace.

Philosophy

I believe in the transformative power of connection. Healing is not about fixing — it’s about being seen, heard, and supported as you move toward greater wholeness. My role is not to direct, but to walk alongside you with care, curiosity, and respect.

Symbolism

The botanical motifs woven through my practice — leaf, flower, heart — reflect the values I hold dear: growth, resilience, and compassion. These symbols remind us that even in seasons of struggle, there is beauty, strength, and renewal.

Adolescent Support
Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and freedom
